Last year I visited Christmas at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky, for the first time. I was so impressed that I wrote an epic post about it. This year they made a significant update to the KaLightoscope exhibit, so when they invited me back for a media preview, I jumped at the chance to see the changes. They invested over $2 million to completely redo the luminaries with a new theme. Now KaLightoscope tells the story of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
An interesting point to note here is that Charles Dickens once stayed at the […]
Perhaps you remember our visit to the charming town of North Pole, Alaska. I am fascinated by towns that get to celebrate Christmas all year long. We recently had a chance to visit another: Santa Claus, Indiana. One summer during my college years, I lived in Evansville, Indiana, and when I would drive home for a weekend, I’d always see the sign for Santa Claus. My kids wanted to know how a town came to be named […]

I had stayed at the Galt House before, but not at Christmastime and I’d heard that it was terrific. The holiday cheer starts before you even check […]

The cruise they selected left from New Orleans, Louisiana, on Christmas Eve and returned on New Year’s Eve. We all flew down to New Orleans a day early and had the opportunity to do a little sightseeing in New Orleans before boarding the ship. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see this already festive city all decked […]
